Gilded brass, 33.0 mm wide. Reverse has the early variant of Bulgarian MVR law enforcement emblem in very high 3-d profile. The suspension device is also of the early style, in brass rather than aluminum.

Established in 1964, this medal was issued to policemen, fire fighters and, after 1969, to state security officers (starting that year Bulgarian Committee of State Security merged with the Ministry of Interior).
