Romania, Medal of Soldier's Bravery (aka Medal of Military Virtue), 1st class, circa 1960s.
The medallion is in gilded brass and enamels (the small ribbon in the colors of national flag at the bottom); shows Rumanian army soldier, seaman, and airman with the state emblem behind them. On the reverse, there are crossed swords and legend "Virtutea Ostaseasca". In excellent condition.
This award was established in 1959, among the earliest medals of the RPR period. It was apparently bestowed pretty sparingly compared with some other medals of the communist era.
