Lenin's Birth Centennial 1970 commemorative porcelain tumbler, Gorodnitsa Porcelain Factory, interesting employment of a retro, almost 1920s Constructivist, decoration throughout.

4 7/8" tall x 3 1/2" diameter (12 x 9cm). Red banner-like stripes encircle the top portion and bear Lenin's name and the number "100". A gold border comprised of alternating stars and hammer & sickles runs around the base.

Excellent condition. The top rim, like those on many Soviet tea cups, is not glazed and has a matte finish - a light scrubbing with a good detergent will probably brighten it. It is interesting to note that the rim does not quite form a perfect circle!

/ Trademark is #149 in Vol. 1 of "Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991"
