"Anthem of the Party of Bolsheviks", Music by A Aleksandrov, text by V Lebedev-Kumach, Muzgiz Publishing House (State Musical Publishing), Moscow, Russian text, unpaginated, 1941.
8 5/8" x 11 ½". In 1944, the text of this song was re-written to become the now familiar National Anthem of the USSR. The music remained exactly the same. The most striking difference between the text here and the verses of the later, national anthem is a stanza dealing with the extermination of the "rotten breed of devious traitors". In the national anthem, it was replaced - with more lyrics in praise of Stalin. Those lyrics were in turn removed in the final version of the anthem after Stalin's death.
