Lapel Pin Portrait of Lenin in a Miniature Frame, circa 1950s - early 60s issue.

The frame is in anodized aluminum; plastic center portion with black on tan portrait. Measures 19.6 mm wide. Lenin is looking almost directly at the viewer and smiling his patented half smile / half smirk.

In excellent condition. The frame shows only minimal wear to the finish while the portrait is perfect and soundly attached.

Small round lapel pins with portraits of Soviet leaders and Bolshevik icons were popular in the Soviet Union for decades. The manner in which the pin is attached and the way the back is finished indicate to us that this is probably

The manner in which the pin is attached and the way the back is finished indicate to us that this is probably a later, Cold War era pin, probably from 1950s. The party- authorized portraits of Lenin changed later and so did production standards for badges, so this piece was almost for sure made no later than in the early 60s.
