"People's Avengers" 1943 Soviet war-time "documentary film" about the partisan movement.

17 7/8" x 28". Printed on very thin paper stock, reinforced along the top edge with a brown paper that is similar to that used to make grocery bags. "About the heroic straggle of men and women partisans in the days of the Patriotic War."

Good to very good condition, with a few minor tears that would completely disappear once framed.

You will see in our photos of the film's credits that two of the people involved in making this movie had already been awarded "Stalin Prizes," so this was obviously not viewed by the Kremlin as a "B Movie", but one that was intended as a

Since reliable razor blades were probably never easy to source in the USSR (shades of Orwell's 1984!), it is not an accident partisans are always shown as fully bearded (just as the Cossacks who once chased the French out of Russia in the nineteenth century are always shown with full beards, too!)
