East Germany, Silver Medal for 10 Years of Faithful Service in Militarized Organs of the Interior Ministry, circa 1970s-80s.

In chrome-plated brass, measures 32 mm wide. The inscription encircling the police shield on the obverse reads "For Faithful Service". Three white stripes on the suspension ribbon and the silver color of the medallion signify 10 years of service. The presentation box has black plastic bottom lined with light foam rubber inside, the lid is in Plexiglas.

The medal is in superb condition. Both pin attachments are clean and fully functional. The lid of the box has a scratch but otherwise is mostly clean.

The Medal for Faithful Service in Militarized Organs of the Interior Ministry ("Medaille für Treue Dienste in den bewaffneten Organen des Ministeriums des Innern") was established on 22 January 1959 in six classes: 5 years service (bronze), 10 years service (silver), 15 years service (gold), 20 years service (gold), 25 years service (gold), and 30 years service (gold). The three highest grades had a red suspension ribbon with yellow stripes.
