In olive drab wool blend twill, without piping. Subdued OD hat badge and matching side buttons in plastic. The sweat diamond shows the logo of the Kiev Headgear Factory and a 1987 date of manufacture. Size 56 (US 7 / Medium) is stamped in white on the liner. There is a factory quality control stamp to the underside of the sweat band.

The hat's shape is similar to much earlier officers' hats or even some field hats from the Imperial era - with a replaced cap badge it would work well for either WW 1 or WW 2 reenactments.
