In Melchior, measures 104 x 80 x 13 mm. The finely sculpted bas-relief on the lid symbolizes the joint march of the nations of the Soviet Union carrying the country's political, agricultural, and industrial achievements led by the banner of the October Revolution and supported by the Red Army.

The case is maker marked on the inside of the bottom part. The mark МЕЛХИОР denotes the metal, Melchior. Under it, the four letters МОАХ (МОАКh) are the Russian abbreviation for the Mechanical Stamping Factory of the Moscow regional branch of OSOAVIAKHIM, another acronym which means the Society for the Assistance of Defense, Aircraft and Chemical Construction, a mass voluntary society which was established in 1927 with the goal of propagating civil defense training among the civilian population and indoctrinating support for the Soviet Armed Forces. The numbers below, D-1-33-77, are the telephone number of the МОАKh factory.

The case is in very good to excellent condition. Outside, it shows a few small shallow dents, mostly to the bottom of the lid and throughout the back. But, perhaps due to the unusual for cigarette cases thickness of the metal, the case remains structurally sound. The hinge is straight, the latch is in perfect working order, and there is just a hint of patina to the artwork, very attractively underscoring its high-3D raised parts. Inside, the surface is very clean, with barely a scuff or oxidation spot. The elastic retaining bands are both in place and appear to be original, albeit inexplicably long.
