In very fine condition. The missing green enamel at the top of the green wreath is the only bit of wear visible to the naked eye. The suspension ribbon shows mild wear to the sides and to the high point on the obverse.

The Order of the Red Cross was established in 1914 by Emperor Franz Joseph I to mark the 50th anniversary of the Geneva Convention. It was intended to be awarded to individuals who had worked in the voluntary services of the Red Cross, be it in peacetime or during a war.
