Medal for Victory over Germany, Variation 2, late 1940s.
The medallion is in brass, measures 36.5 mm in height incl. eyelet, 32.2 mm wide. Features a small rounded eyelet with a flat profile struck as a single piece with the rest of the medallion.
Outstanding, excellent condition. There are some tiny dings to the bas-relief portrait but its details remain perfect and crisp. Beside that and a few minuscule contact marks at the raised edge, there is no other wear visible to the naked eye. There is an attractive light patina on the obverse, free of blemishes or oxidation spots, while the original "gilt" mint luster on the reverse remains

The medal comes on an original brass suspension device with a new ribbon. Overall, a very nice example of the Soviet WW2 victory medal.
