The artwork is an offset print of his large, 95 x 180 cm, 1928 oil-on-canvas painting on exhibit at the Central Museum of Revolution of the USSR. The painting presents the artist's rather stylized and unrealistic impression of the Red Army's 269th Regiment entering Krasnoyarsk in January 1920 and establishing the Soviet rule in the city again, after it had been established in October 1917 and overthrown in June 1918. Krasnoyarsk Territory was vitally important to the Soviets. Its huge area, comprising nearly 14% of the entire modern-day Russia, located in the watershed of the Yenisei, one of the longest and most full-flowing rivers in the world and covered by taiga, contains 95% of Russian nickel, 20% of gold, cobalt, lead, rare earths, uranium, the list goes on and on. Very soon after the Soviets came into power, dozens if not hundreds of GULAG forced labor camps started popping up all over Krasnoyarsk Territory to mine its riches.

In excellent condition, showing only minimal storage wear to the verso.
