The size is continental standard 6" x 4", unmailable without a cover. Published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation 15,000, extremely small by Soviet standards. The name of the artist, V, Pimenov, is printed in the lower left-hand corner on the verso. The artwork is an offset print of his 1958 painting depicting Lenin and two of his closest advisers poring over a map of Petrograd, planning the armed uprising which took place on 25 October (7 November by Gregorian calendar) 1917 and was labeled by the Bolsheviks as the Great October Revolution.
