Badge of a Veteran of 130th Latvian Rifle Corps, circa 1960s-70s.

In silver-plated brass and enamels. The badge is very large: the star pendant alone is 52.6 mm in height incl. the eyelet. 48.2 mm in width; overall height with suspension is approx. 68 mm; weighs 23.6 g overall. The center medallion is a separate superimposed part. Extremely well- made, at least for a veteran's badge.

Excellent condition, uncommon for this badge. The enamel on both the suspension and pendant is perfect. The details of the artwork are well- preserved and crisp. The silver plating on the starburst and reverse of the badge is pristine.

An interesting WW2

An interesting WW2 unit, one of the few "national" formations created by the Soviet high command to appeal to local patriotism in fighting the Nazis.
