Group of 26 IDs and passes issued to Dmitrii Tyutin (Дмитрий Иванович Тютин), a high-level party and government official, possibly Head of the Chief Directorate of State Material Reserves of the USSR, mid-1930s - 1964.
All documents measure approx. 4" x 3".

The Chief Directorate of State Material Reserves administered strategic reserves of materials vital for continuation of functions of the population and the state economy in case of war, natural or man-made disasters, and any other extreme situations. The importance of this directorate and the post of its administrator can hardly be overestimated, and explains why Comrade Tyutin participated in session after session of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR and USSR, was invited to so many high-level meetings and celebratory political events, and given pas

All 26 documents are in very good to excellent condition, showing only minimal storage wear.

1. Pass #0676 to an unspecified multi-day event, probably a Party congress or an electoral session. Bears the ink stamp of the Commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, NKVD.

2. Guest Pass #238 to the II Session of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, issued by the Commandant of the Kremlin, valid for all days of the session, approved entry to the Kremlin via the Spasskiye Gates, validated by the ink stamp of the Commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, NKVD, 1939.

3. Guest Pass #50 to the III Session of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, issued by the Commandant of the Kremlin, valid for all days of the session, approved entry to the Kremlin via the Spasskiye and Borovitskiye Gates, validated by the ink stamp of the Commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, NKVD, 1939.

4. Guest Pass #515 to the IV Emergency Session of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, issued by the Commandant of the Kremlin, valid for all days of the session, approved entry to the Kremlin via the Spasskiye and Borovitskiye Gates, validated by the ink stamp of the Commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, NKVD, 1939.

Guest Pass #632 to the VI Session of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, issued by the Commandant of the Kremlin, valid for all days of the session, approved entry to the Kremlin via the Spasskiye and Borovitskiye Gates, validated by the ink stamp of the Commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, NKVD, 1940.

7. Invitation Card / Pass #1708 to Left Grandstand 4 in Red Square, Moscow, issued for VIP viewing of the 7 November 1940 military parade and demonstration in celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the October Revolution. The text at the very bottom of the pass reads "Valid only upon presentation of the passport," meaning the internal Soviet photo ID which was called "passport" but was not valid for international travel. The pass bears the name of Commissar of State Security Vlasik, Head of the Kremlin Security and Stalin's personal bodyguard until Stalin's death.

8. Guest Pass #196 to the IV Session of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, issued by the Commandant of the Kremlin, valid for all days of the session, approved entry to the Kremlin via the Spasskiye Gates, validated by the ink stamp of the Commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, NKVD, 1941.

9. Invitation Card / Pass to the 23 February 1943 meeting in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Red Army, to take place in the Pillar Hall of the House of Unions, Moscow.

10. Pass #001611 to attend the 2 June 1943 meeting of the Party core of the Moscow VKP(b) organization in the Pillar Hall of the House of Unions, issued by the Moscow City Committee of the VKP(b). The triangular ink stamp reads "Special Sector, Moscow Committee of VKP(b)."

11. Pass #001209 to attend the 7 June 1944 meeting of the Party core of the Moscow VKP(b) organization in the Pillar Hall of the House of Unions, issued by the Moscow City Committee of the VKP(b). The triangular ink stamp reads "Special Sector, Moscow Committee of VKP(b)."

Pass #0558 to the II Session of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, 2nd convocation, valid for all days of the session, approved entry to the Kremlin via the Spasskiye and Borovitskiye Gates, validated by the ink stamp of the Commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, MGB, 1946. Interestingly, seating is approved in the orchestra during separate meetings but in the balcony during joint meetings.

17. Pass #0865 to the VII Session of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, valid for all days of the session with seating in the orchestra, approved entry to the Kremlin via the Spasskiye and Borovitskiye Gates, validated by the ink stamp of the Commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, MGB, 1946.

24. Invitation Card / Pass # 05321 to the 5 March 1960 meeting at the Sports Palace of the Lenin Central Stadium. The ink stamp on the verso specifies granted access to Sector 4 via Entrance #6.

25. Invitation Card / Pass #2625 to the Right Grandstand #7 in Red Square, Moscow, for VIP viewing of the 7 November 1963 military parade and demonstration in celebration of the 46th anniversary of the October Revolution. The pass specifies the grandstand number and, in small print below, the way to reach it. Access to Red Square during parades and demonstrations was strictly controlled, so these directions were quite necessary. The text at the very bottom of the pass reads "Valid only upon presentation of the passport," meaning the internal Soviet photo ID which was called "passport" but was not valid for international travel.

26. Invitation card / Pass #3595 to the meeting celebrating the 94th anniversary of the "founder of the Communist Party and Soviet State, genius theoretician of Marxism, great leader of the world communist and workers' movement, teacher of the workers of the whole world, Vladimir LENIN." The meeting was to take place on 22 April 1964 in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses. Amphitheater seating specified on the left page.
