In excellent, near mint condition. The enamel is perfect, free of chips, flaking, hairline fractures or rubbing, and shows a beautiful luster. The gilt and silver finishes are likewise pristine and bright. The suspension is original and complete, with a fully functional pin attachment. The old ribbon is immaculately clean but shows evidence of use. The connecting link appears to be original; its ends are still joined with solder.

This title of Honored Specialist of the Armed Forces was instituted in 1988, one of the last such honorary titles established in the Soviet Union. According to most available Internet sources, slightly over 200 people were awarded with it. The medals are extremely rare.
