The document is in very good to excellent condition. There is slight foxing to the cover and very faint, barely noticeable water stains at the bottom on the inside, but both the interior and exterior are overall clean and very well-preserved. The pages are firmly attached and have none of the usual tears or separations along the fold.

The 25th Separate Guards Mortar Brigade was formed in early1943, took part in the summer 1943 counteroffensive at Orel during the Battle of Kursk, and later contributed to the liberation of Smolensk. In March 1944, it was redeployed north to Karelia and then to the Svir River, participated in the offensive that took Finlandia out of the war, and fought in the Soviet far north near the Norwegian border. In 1945, it was shifted to the 1st Belorussian Front and with it, took part in the Vistula - Oder offensive and the Battle of Berlin. The brigade was a very distinguished unit awarded with as many as four orders during the last two years of the war - an unusually high number.
