In outstanding, excellent condition. Both sides are completely free of any traces of wear visible to the naked eye and have only a few microscopic contact marks that can be found just barely under a 10x magnification. The medal comes on an original suspension, a WW2 two-layer model in steel and brass with a self-locking pin. The beautifully preserved, clean ribbon is old, possibly original to the medal. The connecting link appears to be of the period. Overall, this is a superb example of the Variation 1 Victory Medal - nearly impossible to upgrade!
