In brass and enamels; 26.9 mm in height, 65.7 mm in width. Variation with pin back attachment. A very fine quality badge.

In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is essentially perfect and retains a beautiful luster, having only a few microscopic contact marks that are completely invisible to the naked eye.. The gilt finish on the wreath and the reverse of the badge is nice and bright.

The operator's qualification badge for officers of the Radio Technical Service of the Signal Corps was introduced in 1956 and issued for only a short time. In 1961, this and other officer qualification badges for various branches of service were replaced with a single Combined Arms Proficiency badge in four classes. Because Radio Specialist proficiency badges were issued for only a short time, they are quite difficult to find in such a nice condition!
