Silver gilt, enamels, 49.4 mm in height incl. the eyelet, 37.5 mm in width. The center medallion is enameled in white with right-facing head of young Duke Albert. The medallion ring is enameled in blue with golden inner and outer borders. The golden inscription ALBERTUS ANIMOSUS ("Albert the Valiant") is accented by two arabesques at the bottom, with a star between them. The center medallion on the reverse is similarly enameled with the King of Saxony coat of arms under a crown, and the year of the order's institution. The edge of the 6 0'clock arm of the cross bears the maker's

In very fine condition, showing a tiny flake to the write enamel of the 12 o'clock arm on the obverse, and a larger flake to the 9 o'clock arm on the reverse. No other wear visible to the naked eye. The ribbon is mostly clean, slightly discolored on the right side.
The Royal Saxon Order of Albrecht (Albert) was instituted on December 31, 1850 by King Frederick Augustus II of Saxony in commemoration of the
350th anniversary of the death of his predecessor Duke Albert III, also known as Albert the Bold. It was awarded to those who remained loyal to
the revolution of 1848 and at the Dresden May Uprising of 1849, and served the state well for civil virtue, science, and art. The center
medallion was believed to be the bust of the founder of the Albertinian family line, Albert the Stout-hearted. However, it was, by mistake,
Albert the Perennial, which resulted in the modelling to be changed in 1876. In 1918, the order became obsolete.
