In very good condition. The document shows a lot of wear which is seen in our photos but has a spectacular powerful museum-grade presentation of a genuine document worn daily throughout four very hard years of the great war.

The records in the ID tell us that Mikhail Mazyrin volunteered into Red Army on 5 July 1941, less than two weeks after the Patriotic War began, fought as a vehicle driver with the 253rd Artillery Brigade, Leningrad Front, took part in the defense of Leningrad, and served in this brigade throughout the entire war until he was discharged on 25 May 1945.

Issued on 15 November 1941, this document was a brand-new form of ID instituted by NKO (Narkomat of Defense) Decree # 330 of 7 October 1941, introducing this photo ID as the only form of identification for privates and NCOs during the war, both on the frontlines and in the rear.
