
Excellent Rifleman badge, by the MTKh factory, late 1940s.
Brass, enamels, 45.0 x 36.4 mm. The second variation of the Rifleman badge, featuring "square" top with narrow shield, and 5 wide scrolls in the top ornament not forming a triangle in the middle. Characteristically square font of the writing and wide profile of the sickle. The center medallion is relatively flat.
In excellent condition. The enamel is nicely preserved throughout, free of flaking or significant wear of any kind, and has only a few tiny scuffs and minuscule contact marks that are practically unnoticeable to the naked eye. The details of the wreath and rifles are free

The details of the wreath and rifles are free of noticeable wear. Some of the original gilt finish is present in recessed areas, especially on the reverse. The screw post is full length, over 11 mm, and comes with an original screw plate maker-marked "Enamel Factory of the MTKh (Moscow Artists Cooperative)".
Rated 5 out of 5 for rarity in the Airapetyan' catalog, this version of the Rifleman badge is much harder to find than the typical Pobeda issues from the 1950s.
