In excellent condition. The exterior is perfectly clean and completely free of the usual moth damage. There is a modest amount of wear to the brim on the back which is completely unnoticeable when the hat is displayed either on its own or on a mannequin head. The liner has light sweat stains, not too noticeable or detractive. The sweat diamond is illegible due to wear but otherwise intact, while the leatherette sweat is completely intact. The hat has kept its shape perfectly over the past decades, has not been squashed in storage as is often the case.

Overall, a very attractive and well-preserved piece. In our experience, service hats of KGB officers have been much harder to find than KGB hats for a full-dress ("parade") uniform.
