Set of 2 matching girl figurines, one by Korosten Porcelain Factory, the other unmarked, 1985.

The statuettes stand approx. 4 ¾" tall. The model was made in commemoration of the XII World Festival of Youth and Students in 1985 in Moscow. The figurine with the wording "XII Moscow-85" at the hem of her white dress is maker marked. This iteration of the Korosten logo was in use from 1962 to mid-1990s. The other figurine is not maker marked. It is quite possible that it was cast at a different porcelain factory from the same mold. In a centralized planned economy of the Soviet Union, this was a common phenomenon.

Both figurines are in outstanding excellent condition. No visible

Both figurines are in outstanding excellent condition. No visible post-production damage of any kind. Even the gilt which usually "goes" first, is intact and bright, not dulled by contact with hands as it often happens. There is an accidental tiny smear of gilt on the hem in the back of the white dress but it's hard to consider it an item of detriment.

The World Festival of Youth and Students began in 1947, its main "stage" in Prague with 17,000 participants from 71 countries. This, the 12th festival, centered in Moscow, with 26,000 participants from 157 countries. It was the 2nd time Moscow hosted the event but the last for USSR. Throughout the years and all the iterations of this festival, its main underlying driving force is propaganda of socialism.
