Matching set of 2 inkwells in heavy cut glass with solid brass lids, circa late 19th - early 20th century.

Each inkwell stands a little over 3 ¼" tall to the tip of the lid, 2 ½" wide. Due to heavy solid construction of both the bottles and lids, the entire set weighs over 1 lb. 3 oz.

In excellent condition. The only two significant items of detriment are a nick to one of the lids and a tiny chip on the top edge of one of the bottles, not too detractive. It is easily assumable that both were incurred during the same accident when something heavy enough was dropped on the inkwell. There are a few microscopic nicks to edges of the glass planes but those are hardly even noticeable and not

The lids show an attractive even layer of patina which adds character and an air of antiquity to the set.

This set will be a magnet for the eyes on a collector's desk!
