Armored Corps officer service visor hat, circa late 1960s-early 1970s.

The crown is in olive drab gabardine with black velvet band and red piping. Gold chin cord. Comes with an appropriate officer hat badge for a service uniform. Marked Size 58 on the liner (approx. US size 7 ¼ / Large). The sweat shield shows wear and its manufacture's logo is only partly legible, but it is clearly of a Moscow factory. There is a factory quality control stamp to the underside of the sweat band.
There is a sowing needle with a length of khaki thread wrapped around it, pinned to the liner under the sweat band. Even cadre officers had to be equipped for quick on-the-f

In excellent condition. The hat is completely free of moth damage or soiling and has kept its form beautifully. There is tiny hole in the sweat band but practically no visible wear to it or the liner. Although the sweat diamond shows wear, it is completely sound and clean. The liner shows letters "ДИВ" ("DIV") inscribed in ballpoint pen, probably the initials of the original owner.
