Gagarin's Youth Poster, Soviet Space Program, "Yuri Gagarin, the Flight Continues" Series, printed in the USSR in 1990.

Big size, measures 70 x 44 cm (27 ½" x 17 ¼"). Printed on high-gloss heavy stock paper, fine quality piece.

This particular poster entitled "Youth" features photos taken during Gagarin's formative years and provides information which is usually obscured by his later fame as Cosmonaut Number One.
The top photo is a group portrait of Yuri's entire family: his parents, his three siblings and himself. Per his mother, Gagarin was quite an achiever during his school years: excellent grades plus a lot of diverse after-school activities including playing trumpet in the school

The bottom margin shows information about the publisher including the number of prints in circulation (just 3000 copies, a tiny number by Soviet standards) and the retail price of 1 Ruble (a typical cheap price from the Soviet era, before the runaway inflation that hit the Soviet, and later Russian economy starting from the early 90s). This series of posters was published in 1990 ahead of the following year's upcoming 30th anniversary of Gagarin's space flight. The posters were apparently created as educational tools, to be displayed in schools, libraries, museums etc.

The poster is in excellent condition. It shows only barely noticeable wear to the edges, but no tears, scuffs, folds or any other significant damage. The colors are strong, not faded.
Please note that it will be shipped rolled in a sturdy cardboard box.
