The copper screw post is full length, approx. 11 mm long (note that it's slightly off vertical axis as is often the case but completely sound). The unmarked screw plate appears to be original to the badge or at least of the period.

One of the requirements for this military award was total self- sufficiency in providing food for all of the company soldiers.
