Flagpole Finial circa late 1940s - early 50s.

In bronze-plated steel, approx. 6.5" tall. There is a stamped manufacturer's mark on the edge near the star which reads "Mosoblmetpromsoyz, 'Kulak...' Workshop". The first word is a typical Soviet cumbersome "Novoyaz" acronym which stands for Moscow Regional Industrial Cooperative of Metalworking Industry. The "Kulak...." part which is only partly struck is the name of the specific maker, a small workshop in the village of Kulakovka which according to published Russian archival sources was in operation between 1939 - early 50s. In very good condition, at least considering the age of this piece. There are a few holes to the stem part apparently from nails used to affix the finial to the flagpole. There are also some bumps and dents from the hammer, but the stem is overall intact and fully functional. The main upper portion is very nicely preserved, and the bronze finish is fully intact throughout.
