In brass ("light bronze"). Measures 33.5 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 28.3 mm in width; weighs 13.6 not including the suspension and ribbon; 14.8 g overall. Obverse shows portrait of Emperor Alexander I. The quotation on the reverse reads: "1812. This Glorious Year Went By, But the Feats Undertaken in It Will Never Pass. 1912".

In very fine to excellent condition, far better than the average for this medal. There is only minimal wear to the high points of the bas-relief portrait; the details of Emperor Alexander's face are very nicely preserved. The reverse is nearly pristine with exceptionally crisp lettering and most of the original mint luster clearly visible in spaces between the letters. The medal is free of edge knocks or nicks. The patina to the brass is uniform and attractive, with just a couple of very minor blemishes on the reverse near the bottom. The medal comes on original St. Vladimir ribbon in silk moiré that has been cut and folded into a traditional five-sided shape as worn by the recipient. The large jump ring is likewise definitely original, while the small connecting link may or may not be of the period.

The medal was awarded in 1912 to all military and non- military participants and organizers of the official ceremonies and military parades marking the anniversary of the victory over Napoleon.
