M 1952 Waist Belt with Hangers for Air Force Officer Dagger, dated 1951.

In braided brown cotton fabric with smooth cotton liner; brass hardware. Adjustable size will fit up to 42" waist. The liner shows quality control stamp and maker mark with a "51" date. The latter is very interesting: this model was officially introduced in 1952, but judging by the stamp, the production started earlier - apparently to have enough inventory on hand for the upcoming change in the uniform code. This is certainly the earliest date we have seen on an Air Force dagger belt!

In excellent condition; comes complete with all buckles and carbine clips

In excellent condition; comes complete with all buckles and carbine clips included. The fabric is perfectly clean and sound, the brass hardware free of verdigris or blemishes. The previous owner was a smoker, so the belt still has a faint tobacco smell that will probably dissipate as time goes by.

This very scarce model was in use only until the late 50s prior to the reform of the Soviet uniform code. Afterwards, daggers were worn by Air Force officers only on rare occasions and only with a full-dress uniform, with a "ceremonial" belt in gold silk tress. The 1951 date makes this belt a particularly interesting and unique piece!
