Silver-plated and gilded brass, enamels, pin back. Measures 48.4 x 40.5 mm. Features smooth reverse without provision for the serial number.

In outstanding, excellent condition, one of the best examples we have seen in the past years. The red enamel is perfect having no wear visible even under 10x magnification. The white enamel in the center has a couple of miniscule scratches that are almost unnoticeable to the naked eye. The enamel retains beautiful luster throughout. The details of the artworks and starburst are essentailly pristine and exceptionally crisp. T

The prize was issued for just a short time starting in 1968, and only a few were awarded. For unknown reasons, it was later canceled, and even mentioning it is now considered taboo by North Korean officials. Reportedly, if asked, they deny that it ever existed!
