
Walking-out dress kitel tunic for Army (Land Forces) Major General, circa late 1960s-early 70s.
Double-breasted, in light gray wool gabardine with red piping on lapel and cuffs, gold embroidery on lapels. Shoulder boards are gold, piped in red, with embroidered gold stars. There are traces of numerous decorations that were once worn on both sides of the chest. The buttons are dated 67 and 68 indicating late 1960s - early 70s as the likely period of manufacture for the tunic.
Chest size 42 with a 26" sleeve. Typical stocky Soviet General type.

Condition is very good overall. There is only a single tiny moth nip on the back, practically unnoticeable, no other moth damage visible anywhere. There is a repair to the liner near the bottom, on the left. Minor soiling to the lapels and cuffs may clean off and is not very detractive at any rate.
