The photo captured a moment of the major offensive of the Leningrad Front under the command of Marshal Govorov at the Karelian Isthmus. The operation began on 10 June 1944 and in a matter of a couple of days pierced Finland's primary defensive fortification system known as the Mannerheim Line, captured the city of Vyborg, and continued rapidly advancing into Finland, forcing Finland to look for ways to exit the war.

In very good to excellent condition. Tilting the photos to reflect a bright light reveals a few minor bumps and scuffs, virtually invisible at a normal viewing angle. The right-side corners show small creases, not too obvious or detractive. Properly mounted, this two-photo panorama will be a great addition to a display of WW2 militaria.

Please note that the pen in our photo is for size reference.
