Order of the Red Star, Type 4 Var. 3, #67423, Nov. 1942 issue to a corporal, a
120-mm mortar crew commander of the 21st Army, Stalingrad Front. With his crew, he
killed a large number of enemy soldiers and greatly helped the advance of his unit
in the first days of the Soviet counteroffensive at Stalingrad (Operation
Uran ). He had also been awarded with a Medal for Combat Service in the
first
weeks of the Battle of Stalingrad (both of his decorations are among the earliest
awarded for that battle.) The order is in Fine condition and comes with archival
research.
Ushakov Medal, #10660, Oct. 1945 issue to the bosun of a torpedo boat for the
Soviet Blitz against Japan in Aug. 1945, He showed outstanding courage and
skills in a Soviet amphibious assault on the Japanese part of Sakhalin Island.
Scarce naval decoration in excellent condition. Comes with a copy of the award
commendation.
Medal for Combat Service, Type 1 Var. 3, #234594, awarded in January 1943 to a 19-
year-old Recon Scout of the 189th Tank Regiment, Don Front, for the Battle of
Stalingrad. Later, he got promoted to Guards Sr. Sgt., received two more
decorations for bravery, and was put in command of an armored personnel carrier.
The medal is in VF condition, a well-preserved attractive example showing a great
amount of character. Comes with archival research.
Order for Service to Homeland in the Soviet Armed Forces, 3rd cl., #95270,
awarded in Dec. 1988 to Deputy Chief Military Prosecutor of a large military
unit for service in Afghanistan. EXC condition. Comes with a copy of the award
record card filled-out in Kabul in late 1988, when the Soviet withdrawal from
Afghanistan was fully underway.
Documented Group to a Hero of Socialist Labor, foreman of the Kharkov Motor
Factory, Ukraine. Includes a 1966 Gold "Hammer and Sickle" Medal, Order of Lenin
issued with it (a very scarce Leningrad Mint version), Order Booklet and
Hero's ID ("Small Certificate"). All 4 items in the group are in superb
condition - literally impossible to upgrade. An uncommon set for the
accomplishments in completing the Seven-Year Plan.
Engineering Institute Graduate Badge, c. 1970s. Leningrad mint version in brass w. wire attachment of the engineering emblem. This badge was issued to graduates of most Soviet "technical" institutes (higher level colleges) preparing engineering cadres for various industries incl. machine building, railroad transportation, mining etc. EXC condition.
Large Honorary Certificate issued in 1928 to former Red Army Deputy Commissar, by Revolutionary Military Council on occasion of the 10th anniversary of the RKKA (Red Army). Hand-signed by Iosif Unshlikht, Deputy People's Commissar for Military and Naval Affairs, Chairman of the Revolutionary Military Council. Good condition.
Award document for the badge for Excellence in Socialist Competition of the Ministry of Transportation Machinery Construction, 1951. Issued to a female worker of the famous Kirov Plant in Leningrad for outstanding results in building steam engine locomotives or other railroad equipment. EXC condition.
M 1938 Red Army Canvas Rucksack, version with canvas shoulder straps, circa 1940-
1941. In outstanding condition. Maker-marked by the NKLP (Narkomat of Light
Industry) Karl Marx Factory in Leningrad. Complete with all the hardware, straps
and leather tabs present; EXC condition. A very rare and desirable piece of early
WW2 RKKA field gear.
Imperial Moscow Technical College graduate badge, in hallmarked silver, by Ivan
Alekseev, 1904-1908.
Magnificent piece of very large size and complex multi-piece construction; the
wreath consists of many separately applied leaves. Outstanding condition; includes
original hallmarked wing nut and washer.
Army / Air Force dress belt for a full dress / parade uniform of a Full Colonel, 1960s-80s. Featuring gold brocade of the same quality as Generals / Admirals belts, it was used only by full colonels, whereas lower ranking officers used belts in softer gold cloth. XXL size (will fit up to 50" waist), EXC condition.
