The order is in very fine condition. The enamel on the suspension has a few tiny, almost unnoticeable surface flakes and some tiny contact
marks but is otherwise perfect, completely free of penetrating chips or significant flaking - an unusual case for such an early award. The
enamel on the red star of the medallion has a tiny chip near the tip of the upper arm, also nearly invisible to the naked eye. The enamel on
the medallion is otherwise pristine and shows beautiful luster. The raised details of the artworks are perfect; the original gilt finish on
the wreath is very well-preserved. The reverse exhibits attractive even toning to silver. The connecting link appears to be original.
