M 1940 Waist Belt with Hangers for Navy Officer Dagger,
1940-1947.
M 1940 Waist Belt with Hangers for Navy Officer Dagger,
1940-1947.
In black tape ribbon of 1" width, much narrower pattern
than
the 1950s and later issues. Black velvet lining. The
buckles feature so-called "kind lions" as opposed to the
snarling or "angry" lions of the similar 1947 model. Snake
clasp on front instead of the larger round buckle found on
the 1950s and later waist belts. Size is adjustable, will
fit up to a 42" waist, although from the way the belt is
configured now it is obvious that its original owner was a
very slim man with about 32" waist.
Excellent condition. There is only minimal wear to the
black
"ribbon"-like exterior where it came in contact with the
buckles, but no tears or fraying. The velvet lining is
almost pristine. Almost all of the original gilt on the
brass fittings is still present.
Perfect for display with a wartime dated naval dagger that
lacks a proper belt and hangers.
