    Army Sharpshooter's badge, 2nd cl, circa 1914-1917.

    Army Sharpshooter's badge, 2nd cl, circa 1914-1917.

Bronze gilt. The target disc is 33.1 mm wide, overall height of the badge is 46.1 mm. Simplified one-piece construction, typical of badges manufactured during WWI.

In excellent condition. There are no significant dings or scratches; shows only minimal mild wear to the raised parts of the rifle barrels. Details are extremely well preserved, and original fire gilt finish is still visible in the recesses of both the obverse and reverse. The screw post is full length, approx. 13 mm. Note that it is thinner and has different thread than what we typically see on Russian badges of this period. Nevertheless there are no telltale signs of the screw post having been replaced, and we believe that it is original to the badge. Comes with 14 mm wide wing nut which is probably original as well.
