Russian February Revolution Jetton, February - November 1917.
In bronze, 26.0 mm wide. The obverse shows a female figure
representing Russia holding a banner (some sources describe it
as the national flag), with an inscription "Free Russia" in
the upper part. The has the date "1917" and a poetic verse
"The tyranny fell, and the people cheered up, mighty, great
In very fine condition. There are some minor blemishes and
tiny scratches but the toning is overall even and attractive.
There is almost no wear to the raised details of the artwork
There are several known versions of this "Liberty" jetton.
They vary by whether they have a 1917 date, by where the
appearance of the reverse, and by how well rendered the face
is of the woman baring a breast for liberty.
