Brass button for Army officer, NCO or enlisted man's gimnasterka shirt, circa mid to late 1940s Brass obverse with steel back and loop painted black; measures approx.

14 mm in diameter. These differ from later buttons by the absence of a date stamp on the back - the year appeared on the back of all Soviet Army buttons from the late 1940s on.

In excellent, near mint condition. Obviously never issued and kept in storage for over half a century - this button still looks practically the same as on the day it left the factory.
