Government Postal Cover Commemorating the Centennial of the First International Polar Year, 1982.

The size is 6 �" x 4 �", with a pre-printed postal stamp. Published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The lettering under the artwork reads "100th Anniversary of the First International Polar Year." The celebrated event lasted from 1 August 1882 to 31 December 1883, and was a coordinated international project focused on geophysical observations and research in the Arctic and Antarctic regions.

Excellent condition.
