Badge to a Hero of the Revolutionary Movement of 1917- 1918, two-layer version in brass, 1932.

Silver-plated brass, enamels; 47.6 x 37.8 mm. Two-layer construction: the top portion with the flag and the back plate are two separate parts.

In fine to very fine condition. The red enamel is heavily weathered, cracked and has a couple of small worn out areas (left side of the scroll, lower edge of the flag under the inscription) but most of it is still present. The white enamel has a couple of small chips behind the rifle and worker's head that are not immediately noticeable; otherwise intact and retains nice luster. Details of the artwork show only very minor wear, still very crisp and well defined - far better than on most other similar badges we've encountered. A good amount of the original silver finish is still present in the recessed areas.

The reverse is likewise well preserved with silver finish still present around the screw post where it was protected by the screw plate; the rest of the reverse has acquired attractive even toning to the brass. There are scratched letters "LGK" near the center which are probably the initials of the original owner. The screw post and square nut are original; the screw post is nearly 11 mm in length measured from the surface of the badge. Comes with well fitting original screw plate.
