First Day Cover for Cosmonautics Day, 1982.
The size is 6 ¼" x 4 ½", published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The pre-printed postal stamp and the large commemorative postal stamp are canceled with the First Day stamp issued by the Kaluga post office, dated 12 April 1982. April 12th, the date of Yuri Gagarin's first manned space flight was celebrated in the Soviet Union as Cosmonautics Day.
In excellent condition, just minor wrinkles to the paper. As was often the case, regular postal covers were adapted by affixing a commemorative stamp and First Day cancel to create a First Day Cover.
