In light gray wool gabardine with red piping and band, gold embroidery on the band, and gold filigree chin cord. The teardrop-shaped sweat label shows the early TSP Moscow maker's mark, a 71 date of manufacture, and a size 58 (equivalent of US size 7 ¼ - Large).
The hat is in excellent condition. Unlike vast majority of hats of this vintage, it is completely free of mothing. There are some minor very
faint marks to the top of the crown that are neither very noticeable nor detractive and may clean off, no significant soiling or stains. The
interior is perfectly clean. Overall, this is an exceptionally well-preserved early example of the less common general hat for the walking-out
dress uniform. It is very hard to find in both a relatively large size and premium condition.
