In very fine condition. The enamel is very well preserved, completely free of the usual significant chips, rubbing or flaking. There is a tiny chip in the upper left corner of the banner, practically unnoticeable without magnification. There are also a few miniscule hairlines and a couple of tiny chips to the white enamel in the lower portion under the locomotive, also nearly unnoticeable to the naked eye. The enamel retains all of its beautiful appearance and luster.

The raised points of the locomotive show only minimal wear; its details are overall nicely preserved. The gilt finish on the wreath is fully intact; much of the gilt on the reverse is present despite some blemishes. The screw post is of full length, nearly 11 mm, and includes original screw plate marked "ShM Z-D MPS."
