Order of St Stanislaus, Military Division, 3rd cl breast badge, by Dmitry Osipov, circa late 1916 - early 1917.

Bronze gilt, enamels. Measures 39.4 mm in width. Cyrillic maker marks "Д.О." ("D.O", for Dmitry Osipov, St. Petersburg) and "K" on the reverse lower arm. Layered construction, characteristic of the late issue Osipov pieces. The swords are of standard Osipov manufacture. Beautiful translucent red enamel reveals the guilloche pattern underneath.

In excellent condition. The red enamel is original and perfect, without the usual flaking or heavy wear. Shows very nice luster. The green leaves in the band and the center medallion are likewise intact. Practically all of the original gold plating is fully present. Comes on original wire loop with old, apparently original ribbon and bow. A significant WW1 combat award from the last days of the Russian Empire.
