Peace with Sweden Jeton, 1790.
In silver. Approx. 22 mm diameter. Weight 4.0 g. The obverse shows florals and the motto "Neighborly and Eternal". On the reverse, inscription "Peace with Sweden Signed on 3 August 1790".
Fine condition. Heavy wear throughout and traces of impact to the lower part. However the inscription is fully legible and most of the details of the artwork are fully discernable, including the beaded edge.
The jeton was reportedly awarded to officials and noblemen invited to the festivities marking the signing of the peace treaty. A nice companion piece to medals of Catherine the Great period, such as the Medal for Bravery in Finnish Waters or the Medal for Peace with Sweden (the latter was awarded only to combatants).
