Shows unit stamp and signature of the commander of the 45th Cannon Brigade. Based on order of battle information available in the Volume VI "Red Thunder" of the Charles Sharp's book series, this brigade was activated in late 1942 as part of the 11th Artillery Division, and it took part in the destruction of the German troops at Stalingrad. In the later part of the war, the brigade and division were a part of the 2nd Ukrainian Front and fought in the Yassy-Kishinev operation, in Hungary and Czechoslovakia. As evident from the award document, the 45th brigade was a highly distinguished unit: it had been awarded with the Orders of the Red Banner, Suvorov and Bogdan Khmelnitsky - a very uncommon number of decorations for any single brigade!

The document is in excellent condition, far better than the average. There is only light age toning to the cover, no significant wear, tears or stains. The text is fully legible. The back has an official ink stamp certifying that the medal for 30th Anniversary of Victory has been issued as well.
