All-Union Agricultural Exhibition Keepsake or Souvenir Box, circa mid-1950s, features a view of the main building of the VSKhV fairgrounds in Moscow (which later became the famous VDNKh).

7 1/8" x 7 3/8" x 2 3/4". Lid shows first building visitors still see after walking through the main gate (our photo was taken in 2006 - with the exception of the letters "CCCP", the building was unchanged). Exceedingly sturdy blue plastic with equally sturdy metal hinges. Manufacturer's logo impressed on the bottom.

Excellent condition.

While this box may have come with candy in or maybe an assortment of sewing supplies, with its carefully designed legs it was obviously designed to serve as a keepsake box on a dresser or a desk.
